This year we had double the fun for Halloween.
On Halloween weekend we went to a trunk or treat in Cleburne (Nicole's home town) and the next weekend, a trunk or treat in Azle (Nathan's home town).
Halloween part 1
Cleburne Trunk or Treat....
So on Halloween day Nathan had to work so we had to make the best of it with out him. Lucky for us he came home around 4 so he was able to go trunk or treating with us.
But while we waited we decided to get some activities going-
We made some fun decorations. The kids and I cut out some fun Halloween shapes, colored them and hung them on the wall so those who came home could be welcomed with the Halloween spirit-
The kids were very creative. They colored "Casper", "Frankenstein" & other familiar scary characters.

Happy Halloween everybody!!!

They were good buds, cooperated and shared, which was nice for me ;)

Of course then we had to make some sweets. Chocolate spiders!!!

Who doesn't love chocolate

obviously these two

End result.......
they are addicting :)

And we move on to Halloween night.
We decided to go for "The Wizard of Oz" theme this year. Nathan (scarecrow), Nicole (wicked witch of the west) Ethan (tin-man), Shelby (Dorthy) & Link (cowardly lion).

Making the costumes was the funnest part of course. Luckily Ms. Dorthy & lion were already made. With the tin man we had to be a little more creative-

I was pretty proud of my ax = paper plate, some sticks, foil & duct tape. Not bad eh?

famous ruby slippers

Mr. tin man was quite the project.

Of course you always run into some interesting characters at a Halloween party. I had to get a picture of this guy. Every year he is creative with his costumes. One year he was Braveheart (quilt, sword, the works.) This year "Thor"....(and oh yes those are tights) lol.

What do you think? Halloween always brings out some interesting characters ;)

Trick-or-Treat

Happy Halloween!

Sorry I am just now commenting on your Halloween. I loved all your costumes, especially the wicked witch, nice makeup job! You were always so crafty, your kids are lucky to have you for a mama! It's weird, I had forgotten how much I loved being around you and seeing you for those few short hours was like a drug and I can't find a supply close to home! haha. I miss you!
