Valentine's weekend

We decided to go up to Rexburg Id to visit my bro & sis, Brent & Janeen.
Ethan I think was the most excited, he loves to play with "Bent & Neen".
We also took advantage of the babysitters. They didn't mind sitting either,
they said it was some practice getting ready for their baby boy who's coming
in May. I was especially excited to visit my old school, BYU Idaho/ (Ricks).
We had such a wonderful Valentine's weekend. Here's us with our Sweethearts.
We went on a double date, Nathan & Shelby and Ethan and I, so fun!
One of the things I was especially excited to do was visit the new temple
there.......however for some reason it was closed that weekend : (
but I still got a couple of shots.

It's a very pretty temple, we're excited to make a session on another trip.
I thought it would be very romantic to go to the temple on Valentine's day,
get all dressed up and remember our wedding day. (corny I know, but fun : ).
Valentine's day does always remind me of our wedding day b/c that's the
day Nathan proposed to me........but I'll save that for another post.
If anyone knows Rexburg they know it COLD, and usually covered in snow
We took advantage of this fun!

Ethan was so excited to play in the snow,
especially with Daddy since he never gets to spend time with him during the day
We went to BYU-I's ice rink and played around on that.
Of course we didn't have ice skates but we didn't need them as you can see.
Ethan was having a ball. Brent brought his boogie board and everyone
would take turns spinning Ethan around really fast and then
letting him go to spin off.

Actually I wish I could have done it too.

Of course the boys all had fun sledding down in the snow
I'll be adding some videos that everyone will find very entertaining
of the boys going down some slopes.
Janeen and I had so much fun laughing at our husbands daring each other
and trying to find the best slopes to go down. I'll be sure to put a video of
Brent going down too, just so the rest of the fam can enjoy ; )

We started Valentine's day off with a yummy breakfast prepared by
Brent & Neen, thanks guys.
They even surprised us with a little treat for our hotel...our fav.
candies and a bottle of yummy grape drink!

And of course we couldn't go all the way to Idaho and not bring
along the wii, ha ha
Ethan always gets in on the fun too.

The most exciting part of the trip, for me was my valentine's day gift
(one of them, the big one anyway). Nathan surprised me with a little
weekend get-a-way, well one night anyway.

It was so nice to have a little break from the kids and have some
mommy/daddy time. The place we stayed at was in Idaho Falls
which was about 30 mins away from Rexburg. It was called
Destination Inn, most of you probably know about the Anniversary Inn
which is a really nice theme roomed hotel. We've stayed there once,
in the "Phantom of the Opera" room which is pretty neat, HOWEVER
the Destination Inn was SO much nicer. The room we stayed in was
"Rio de Janiero" Here are some fun pictures. May I point out this was
the same price but our room was twice as big at least.
The ceilings were about 20 feet high, there was a huge comfy bed,
a massage table, a huge jacuzzi tub, and a walk in shower that is
about as big as our kitchen.

Plus there was a huge projector that rolled down from the ceiling and
a wide variety of good movies available.

Anyway if anyone ever has a chance to stay here definitely take it,
it's incredible. We had such a wonderful time there. Brent and Janeen
did a wonderful job taking care of the kids, they said they
were really good. We owe y'all.
Ethan and Shelby both loved being with Brent and Neen.
Here's Ethan showing Brent his superman tough pose
Ethan would follow Brent around, even when he went to the
bathroom Ethan didn't take a break he followed him there to
talk to him through the door, ha ha.

Brent was also so good with Shelby making her smile and laugh.

Shelby also enjoyed her time with Janeen
Janeen you are going to be such a good mommy, you are already ready.
Thanks so much to Brent and Janeen for letting us spend the weekend
with you, we'll make another trip up there soon! Love y'all!!!

( Here are just some other random pictures of our trip,
it was such a nice Valentine's weekend. )

Our growing baby...

Our Shelbydoll is such a sweety. She is such a good mellow baby like Ethan was. She doesn't even cry, when she needs something she'll just make this sweet little whimpering sound. Even her cry compared to Ethan's is more feminine, ha ha. We love both of our babies but it's funny to see the comparisons from our tough Superman to our little doll.
We have a play date weekly where we meet with one of my best friends growing up, Hillary. We both have 2 kids, a boy and a girl, and they're both very close in age. Her little boy Cameron who is only a few days older than Shelby is so much bigger. Here's a picture of them together just to give you an idea of how little our Shelby is. You can tell Cameron is going to be a basketball or football player, he's a cutie.
Here's a little comparison from Ethan's & Shelby's 2 month check up: (Shelby has gotten taller for sure, at her 2 week she was only in the 9PERCENTILE.)

ETHAN-
HEIGHT-23.3 INCHES-60PERCENTILE
WEIGHT-13LBS. 13OUNCES- 90PERCENTILE

SHELBY-
HEIGHT- 22INCHES-35PERCENTILE
WEIGHT-9LBS. 13OUNCES- 23PERCENTILE

We love both of our babies. It's been fun having one of each and comparing boy babies and girl babies. Ethan definitely has been our Superman, he's strong and tough and he knows it. Our little Shelby has been so sweet and delicate, a little princess.
