This is what happens when you walk into the side of the house...

Today was a pretty exciting day!! We had lots of errands we needed to run, but first Nathan had to replace the fuel pump in the blazer. He was tired from working all week but he wanted to be responsible and take care of that first. I was getting ready in the house and the kids were taking naps. I was just putting on some mascara in the hallway mirror and next thing I know Nathan walks in and goes inside the bathroom. Ethan had just woken up and was talking to Nathan, "what are you doing daddy?" ( a few times and no response ) I thought for a second, it was kind of weird Nathan wasn't responding to him, but I thought maybe he's just busy and not paying attention to Ethan. Then I sort of re-played it through my mind and realized Nathan did walk in pretty fast and was holding his head, now that I think of it, and he didn't say anything to me and sort of brushed by me on his way in. Curious I wandered into the bathroom just to make sure all was ok........... All was not ok. The sink had blood all over it and Nathan was holding his head with red hands. My heart raced, I being a woman immediately panicked and grabbed the phone to dial 911. Nathan was very calm and said he was fine. He even said, (quote) "can't we just put a band aid on it?"

So from there we woke Shelby up packed her and E in the car and were off to the E.R.

What happened was Nathan was busy, being responsible, fixing the car, and this is what he gets ; ) He was in a hurry trying to get things done and he grabbed something from our storage shed in the back and then came around to the front to where the cars are parked and walked right into that corner there (in the picture I posted). We were in the E.R. for a couple of hours waiting. Ethan was very concerned with his daddy and trying to take care of him, giving him hugs and kisses.

8 shots, ( in his head, OPEN HEAD ) ( he said it was horrific ) 8 Stitches and a hundred dollars later we were on our way home. It's funny the way a man handles it. Just in comparison I would be crying from pain and shock and worried about the scar and if they would have to cut my hair......etc......Nathan on the other hand was just mad and annoyed that it happened. "What a waste of money " he said.

When Nana was in town

While Nana was in town we got out and did a few fun things. She stayed a little while after to help me out with Ethan & Shelby. We went up to Layton to visit Grandma and Grandpa and they were able to meet Shelby. There's a memorable picture we got that I can show Shelby some day of 4 generations......Grandma Stefan, My mom, me and little Shelby. I love my Grandma, she is very special to me and I have been close and looked up to her my whole life.

We also went to a fun aquarium we found in Sandy. Ethan LOVED it! Fish are one of his favorites right now. We loved walking around and
showing him all different types of fish. We of course had to get him a souvenir. If any of you have seen "Finding Nemo" you know of "Bruce" the shark. He fell in love with this shark instantly, he even named him Bruce. He cuddles with him like you would a teddy bear, it's pretty cute and kind of funny. Ha, it was a really fun outing and we are glad Ethan got to share it with Nana. Thanks for all of your help and the party Nana, we miss you!!!

ONLY TEMPORARY

As you can see I had to change things up......

(I really don't like the way this looks, BUT I had to change it for a bit.)

I made this last post late, late late at night. When the kids were asleep of course. I really wanted to get caught up and I knew it would take me a while. I've been promising my little brother and sister I would post our Christmas pictures but I've just been putting it off. Well finally I got around to it and whenever I did post it I had soo many pictures they wouldn't all show with that particular template I had. SOO I had to change it, but it's only temporary for this post.

(the longest post ever ) Our "crazy" New Years Eve & more

As you can see I'm still in the process of catching up. But I have to stick to it right? For journal purposes anyway.

I'm going to just make this a big entry to get up to date=>

With our new toy and family still there we had to put that to use. SOO Nathan put a wii tournament together for bowling. We had such a good time. Who would have thought that after it all it came down to Caitlin and "Tom Carver". We assumed my dad would be good but little Caitlin, who know she had it in her. In the end though it was dad who was the winner. It was so much fun though cheering everyone on and laughing at good bowls and bad.

After bowling on the wii we were all craving to go "real bowling" so we made a trip over to the "Y" to bowl as well. Once again dad smoked us all. Here's some more fun pics of the fam. Nathan had to work : ( so he was missed greatly. We also played a few of the other games there .
Ethan, I mean "Superman" was having so much fun with Jeffrey and Caitlin........
Here's Caitlin showing off her mad skills
The rest of us aren't as cute or graceful as Caitlin when we do it.

Making wonderful memories

Also Cait and I made sure we fit it in to have a little girl time. We were able to kick everyone out to a movie so we could have a little fun.

And of course I have to throw in some more wii pics......
and just more Random pictures

Here's a few pics of our "crazy" New Years Eve!! How crazy can you get with 2 little ones though? Plus the next day my family flew home to Texas, well all but my mom. She hung around to help me with our new addition (Shelby) Even with my family leaving early the next day we still managed to stay up and party all night.

We ate good food, played fun games and of course had the count down.

And even Ethan was a good sport, staying up all night, we knew he had it in him.
We had so much fun thanks to the Carver's for good times and great memories.

Carver Christmas

Slowly but surely I'm getting around to posting the rest of our Christmas fun. This is going to be dedicated to the Carver times at Christmas.
Now let me start out with pointing out these cute ornaments my little sister Caitlin made for us. There is one for me, Nathan, Ethan & baby Shelby....it's so cute, look close and you'll notice a pacifier in her mouth. Caitlin is so crafty! Thank you Caity.

Like I said before we were lucky enough to welcome both of our families here to Utah for Christmas. Of course we had to break up our time with them so we could make sure to have fun with both families.
The Carver clan stayed at our house Christmas eve so we got to wake up to a "Carver-Christmas morning". It was only part of the Carver Clan though : Mom, Dad, Jeffrey, Caitlin & Brent and Janeen, (who came down from Idaho)

We missed my brother Chris and Carrie and their families who stayed in Texas to celebrate and of course Bryan who's in Guadalajara, Mexico on a mission. Speaking of Bryan we were so excited that we all got to talk to him for a little bit on Christmas day and he's doing awesome.

Nathan and I decided this year we were going to buy one main gift for eachother........
Who knew that 3 little letters could bring so much fun, joy & laughter to a family!
That's right we got a " wii " for Christmas, that was our main present this year. (mine and Nathan's to eachother) He found a really good package on the internet that included lots of games and the wii fit which I am mostly excited about!!!!

More wii pictures to follow.......

Of course the best part of Christmas was watching Ethan get excited & open gifts. He's really into Bob the builder and trains right now so we made sure we accomodated for both.

And of course there is the infamous "Lightning Mcqueen" which to Ethan is "Lightning A-queen" Here's Ethan and uncle Jeffrey working on some Bob the Builder play-doh" He has such a good uncle.

One of my favorite gifts, which I thought Shelby and I would enjoy when she's a little older was "The Little Mermaid" I love disney movies!. Well.. come to find out it's a big hit with Ethan too. He can't quite remember the name "Ariel" so for now he just refers to it as "mermaid". I want to watch "mermaid"

It was so nice to wake up to a house full of family, it always makes things more exciting. I know Ethan especially loved playing video games with Uncle Bent & Uncle Jef-Jef. I know these pictures are all about the same but I love Ethan's expression so much in them I had to post them.

Neen was also very helpful with little Shelby while the boys played. We were also surprised to hear a big announcement from Brent & Janeen. They announced that they are having a boy!! We all had our bets going on what the baby was.
So my parents are just raking in the Grandkids. My older bro. Chris just had a girl, Mavery, then we had Shelby....Carrie is expecting twin girls and then 3 weeks later Brent will be having a little boy.

That makes 10 grandkids for my parents. And that makes 5 within a year. My brother Bryan is going to come home to 5 new neices and nephews, what a surprse!! Congrats to Neen and Brent !!! We're so glad the Carver's came up to celebrate Christmas with us. (more x-mas pictures to follow)
