Shelby
Ethan

SO let me first say this will explain why I've been out of the blogging world basically all summer.....
So I've always wanted lots of children....Nathan is has always leaned a little more to the 4ish range. Of course we are going to have whatever we fill inspired to have with the spirit and prayer involved. With this in mind we have always discussed having our kids 2 years apart. We feel like it's a good range, my brother's and sister's are all about that far apart. It's a good space, not too close not too far. HOWEVER some things you just can't control right? Well first let me address all mother's who are reading this, you know that feeling you get when you think, hmm...."I think maybe something is going on"....that "I might be pregnant feeling" I've had that feeling with every pregnancy. The first two pregnancies were planned and before I took a preg. test I always got that feeling like, "I think I might be pregnant!". With my first two kiddos I got that feeling and took a test. With Ethan I was 5 weeks preg. and Shelby I was 6 weeks. Now let's jump to another subject really quick, keeping the first thoughts in mind. I have been nursing Shelby, "full-time" if you will. I have a goal to nurse my kiddos for at least 6 months. With Shelby I just went a little longer, for no particular reason. Now isn't it supposed to be when you are nursing you CAN'T get preg? And isn't it also true that when you are on birth control you CAN'T get preg? .............maybe not. So I nursed Shelby up until about 3 weeks ago. I stopped and then was expecting my period to start, ASSUMING it would. So a week goes by and no period. I had actually gotten the "feeling" discussed earlier when I was nursing but just ignored it b/c I just thought I was weird and hormones are making me think things. WELL then when my period didn't start I got that same feeling, like "yup you are, you're preg". SO just to put my thoughts at ease I took a test..........and it was a positive. So then the next day I took another one.....same answer. Nathan and I were both in shock, "this has to be wrong", "there's no way, we just had a baby, she's still a baby". SO I make a Dr. appointment thinking with my lovely medical background and luck I probably have some sort of disease or a cyst or a tumor. I have no faith in my medical history.........I kind of am unlucky as of 6 years ago with our moto accident. Sometimes I just feel cursed from that b/c thing seem to keep happening. So with that negative attitude I just figured I had some new problem. So Nathan and I haul the kiddos to the Dr. First thing they do is take us to an ultra sound room. I'm thinking "whatever....so we can see my tumor? or cyst?" and So the tech has me put on one of those cute gowns and checks out my stomach. Nathan and I are lost b/c we don't know what exactly we're seeing.....and then we see two little feet, and two little hands. We are both in shock, "oh my goodness, I really am pregnant!!!" Then the girl says, "and would you like to know the gender?" WHAT!!!!!!! Are you kidding me, first of all didn't even think I was preg. second if I was, maybe I was 8 weeks or 10 at most. She said "Congratulations, it's a boy, and you are 14 weeks along!"
WHAT!!!!!!!!! We are speechless! I still to this day am. I am so surprised. I have always made fun of those stoires you hear about girls being months along and not knowing, how could you not know?!? Well from now on I am shutting up. So we figured I got pregnant in May. I actually just saw my family a month ago and I guess I was 3 months along!! How about that mom?! Are you shocked or what??!!!?
We are all so happy! Nathan especially he's getting another boy. I am very happy for little Ethan he is SOOOO excited to get a little brother. Now we'll have 2 boys to protect Ms. Shelby. To those of you who know my sis Carrie had twins a few months ago. We both always knew one of us would have them, our mom's a twin and it skips a generation. So we figured one of us will end up with them. Well Carrie got them, 2 beautiful girls which honestly I was a little jealous but then after hearing the work that goes into it sort of glad SHE was the one that got them. BUT in the end I guess I got my own version of twins. I have my babies early at 37 weeks due to blood complications that I'll get into on another post but b/c of that I am enduced at 37 weeks so that will make them 14 months apart so I'll count that as my own twins, ha ha. And for another little surprise Ms. Shelby was born on her grandma's b-day Dec. 3 (Nathan's mom) (that was my 37 week) and with this little guy my 37 week happens to fall on my mom's birthday.....what are the odds?!?!? So happy early birthday to you mom!
Anyway like I said more posts to come. And sorry for not blogging pretty much all summer. With my first two I never got sick. BUT this little guy I'm feeling a little under the weather so I've had to rest a lot. I'm assuming it's possibly b/c I JUST HAD A BABY!!!!! and maybe my body is not back to it's best just yet. However this does make me feel a little better with working out. I have been working out like no other trying to lose this other baby weight I put on with Shelby, but NOTHING has moved, well now it makes sense. Ha ha I guess it's for the best, it's helped me to not put on very much weight with this pregnancy so far. You know how girls are with weight. Anyway.
We are so excited it's going to be tough but of course worth it!!! We are HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY!!!!!!
More posts to come!!!!
Here's some pics of our little guy. It's really hard to see but on the second pic you can see "it's a boy"

Wait let me get this straight, you were nursing AND on the pill??? Were you taking the mini pill or the regular pill and did you ever miss a day? or took it late? Im wondering cause I am nursing and on the mini pill and now im very worried about me getting pregnant! lol Although that is so exciting to be surprised like that. My first was not planned. About 6 weeks after we got married I bought some pregnancy tests just for fun wondering what its like to take one and then it was positive...Quite a shock... but Congratulations!! Have you thought of any names?
